Easy Editing with Kapwing

Updated: Oct 2, 2020

When looking for a video editing software, I needed something user friendly and easy to use. I found exactly what I was looking for in the Kapwing video editing app. Kapwing offers a variety of features and tools to make editing video a hassle free experience for novice video editors like me. I’ve found their subtitling caption tools to be on par with other leading subtitling service providers. In fact, Kapwings app provides a sleek modern interface that puts it leaps and bounds ahead of some older dated tools currently on the market.

As a small business owner specializing in subtitling services, I sought a provider that had a user intuitive layout. Kapwing streamlines the transcription and subtitling process by offering automated captioning. Users can caption down to the millisecond to provide utterances accurately synced to audio. Caption font, size and color can be repositioned and edited to provide a customized fit that matches your video.

The user even has the option to caption in other languages. While I wouldn’t recommend relying solely on automated translation, this tool can save time on extensive audio to visual translations.

Video Editing

I primarily use Kapwing to trim and edit videos for my business’s social media accounts. As someone with limited video editing experience, Kapwing allows me to self edit quick videos. I especially like the ability to adjust brightness, contrast and saturation of videos.

There is a slight learning curve as one becomes acquainted with the editing software. Trimming videos can be tricky at first. Once you get the hang of how to use the app then everything becomes smooth sailing from there.

Customer Service

As someone with a prior background in sales, I understand the expectations of customers as well as the duty one has to provide positive customer service experience. I had a very positive experience utilizing Kapwing’s customer service. I received a response to a recent inquiry within a matter of minutes! Their staff was courteous and attentive addressing my questions. Customer service experiences can make or break the user experience. I’ve had my fair share of let downs in the past.

Overall Opinion

Overall, Kapwing is great for independent contractors, small businesses and individual use. Closed captioning and subtitling is a highly specialized skill and Kapwing enhances my ability to provide my clients with an exceptional service. The video editing tools make it easy for beginners to trim, edit, resize and caption their projects. With a $0 membrership and access to a wide range of features, Kapwing is worth testing out for yourself. Head to to get started.
